Visa Mobile – a new payment method now available to PeP customers

Polskie ePłatności has launched Visa Mobile – a new payment service using a telephone number on the Internet, created by Visa, one of the world’s leaders in digital payments. This is the third implementation of the Nexi Group of this method, Visa Mobile had previously introduced Przelewy24 and eCard. To pay with Visa Mobile, the Visa card user enters a phone number and then approves the payment on the smartphone.

Visa Mobile is a new online payment method – convenient, intuitive and as well secured as other Visa card transactions. The buyer no longer has to provide their card number, expiry date and CVV2 code when paying, but only the phone number. The solution has been designed to eliminate the need to manually enter data from the card or the need to enter the full password for logging in.

Poland is the first country in the world where Visa Mobile has been implemented. Already in September 2021, a test program was carried out with selected Nest Bank customers. In May last year, Visa Mobile was the first to implement the Przelewy24 service belonging to the Nexi Group. Now the solution is also available for online stores using payment services via Polskie ePłatności (also a member of the Nexi Group).

– Innovative and cutting-edge payment solutions are in our DNA. As part of the Nexi Group, the European leader in the field of cashless payments, we focus on future-oriented pro-consumer solutions that are characterized by intuitiveness. With the current pace of life, consumers do not have time to look for simplified solutions. The industry must keep up – says Maciej Nowosielski, President of the Management Board of Polskie ePłatności S.A.

Visa Mobile activation requires only a few simple steps. Just go to the bank’s mobile application, select the “Cards” menu and click “Add card to Visa Mobile”, then enter the code that will be sent by e-mail, and then confirm the entire operation with your mobile password. Visa Mobile is currently implemented in the mobile applications of ING, Nest Bank and SGB Bank. The new payment method can also be used by holders of cards issued by other selected banks and credit unions, thanks to the standalone Visa Mobile application (full list available at visa.pl)

When paying in the online store, all you need to do is select the Visa Mobile method, enter your phone number and confirm the transaction in the bank’s mobile application or in the standalone Visa Mobile application. It takes a few moments to complete the payment.

– At Visa, we want consumers to be able to safely and easily pay for online purchases at a time when we are seeing an increase in their popularity. When creating Visa Mobile, we wanted to make online transactions not only faster, but also more intuitive. A smartphone, an application and a phone number – that’s all you need, and the Visa Mobile payment will take only a few moments. This is especially important because 79% of Polish consumers reach for smartphones when looking for products and services that are interesting for them. 65% of Polish women and men order goods or services on a smartphone, and 71% pay for them using it. Visa Mobile is a reflection of our continuous efforts to make the flow of money smooth, reliable and convenient – says Katarzyna Zubrzycka, Director of Retail and Acquirers in the CEE region, Visa.

Polskie ePłatności is one of the leading companies on the Polish cashless payment market with over 200,000 customers. processed terminals.
